Tesla CEO says board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months

Bengaluru: A day after acquiring 9.2 per cent stake in Twitter, Elon Musk has been appointed as a board member in the social media company.
Announcing in a tweet, Twitter's CEO Parag Agrawal wrote: "I'm excited to share that we're appointing @elonmusk to our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board."
Replying to this, Elon Musk tweeted that "Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!"
On Monday, Musk had bought 9.2 per cent stake in Twitter Inc, worth about $3 billion that caused the stock to surge more than 27 per cent.
Musk is a prolific user of Twitter himself. His tweets had affected the share price of his promoted companies on many occasions. Of late, he has been critical of the social media platform and its policies. "He's both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term. Welcome Elon!," Agarwal has tweeted.
